FEVAC® – Vacuum Final Heater
FEVAC® is a high-efficiency vacuum final heater designed for heating edible oils and fats during the deodorization stage.
Equipment designed to operate using high-pressure steam / thermic fluid, ensuring uniform heating and optimal process performance.
Process oil enters the shell side of the FEVAC® unit under vacuum as of the deodorizer system. It flows through specially designed baffles and channels that promote efficient heat transfer between the shell-side oil and the tube-side heating medium. Once heated to the required temperature, the oil exits the shell and flows by gravity to the stripping / deodorization zone.
The heating medium enters the tube side under pressure and passes through multiple tube passes to maximize heat transfer efficiency. At the bottom of the shell side, perforated sparge steam tubes are provided to inject steam into the oil, which provides turbulence, improves heat transfer efficiency, and also helps in stripping FFA and undesirable volatile components.
