The SCR® Scraped Surface Heat Exchanger, the name itself describes the principle of design.

In which, heat transfer surface is continuously cleaned by scraping blades to ensure efficient heat transfer as well as to avoid scorching of the product on the heat transfer surface helps in keeping quality of the product intact.

This is a vertically mounted cylindrical design comprising a heating / cooling jacket on the cylinder, with the rotor mounted with bulldozer-type self-adjustable blades on guide pins. Rotor assembly hermetically sealed by mechanical seals, top side is coupled to drive geared motor with provision of variable frequency drive. Cylinder’s inner side is hard chrome plated having mirror finish.

Its applications include handling viscous fluids in food / industrial chemicals, drying as well as cooling operations under negative / positive pressure, designed in reference to duty requirements.

Its modified version is the falling film SCR®, where the product film is in falling mode, used for highly viscous fluids.
