PACKD® Packed column Deodorizer is a high-efficiency de-acidification system designed for high FFA oils. Here, deacidification is first Deacidification is done in packed stripping column / tower and then followed by necessary retention time necessary for deodorization in compartmental sections vertical or horizontal depends upon the available space.
The stripping column comprises specially designed structured packing that facilitates the extended surface area required for sparge steam and oil contact, enabling efficient mass transfer and effective removal of fatty acids and other oxidized and volatile compounds from the oil.
Here, sparge steam utilized for deodorization is used in the stripping column for stripping of FFA
Applications
- High FFA edible oil refining like palm oil, rice bran oil etc. producing low FFA deodorized oil with lower energy consumption compared to conventional tray deodorizers!
